Simple Gifts

I started to write about simplicity today… but it got too complicated and I got too sleepy. So now I have fodder for another blog post in the future and you get my thankful post for today…

I am thankful for:

Soft-serve ice cream (especially since my husband made a special trip to Chick Fil A to get for me — he hasn’t run out to get some food craving for me since I was pregnant — and, no, I am not pregnant šŸ™‚ )

Sonic happy hour (let’s be honest, I’m happy for this one on a regular basis… yum… 1/2 price yummy drinks…)

Sunshine (it is supposed to rain later this week… trying to soak in some sun while I can… loving watching that sunlight and green trees still, I can’t imagine living somewhere with no green!)

Super Easy Breakfast Casserole (leftovers from a potluck yesterday gave us a hot breakfast today! Ā So easy… 1 pound of ground sausage, browned; 2 cups of cheddar cheese, grated; 10 eggs mixed with 1 can evaporated milk, whisked together… layer it all in a greased 9×13 pan and bake for about 30-35 minutes. Ā The 4-year-old said “egg casserole” was his favorite part of the day! Ā Guess I make him live on cereal too much!)

Shopping (is done for next week…minus the obligatory few things I forgot to pick up)

And the message of this song — always need this reminder too — Sacred Delight by Sunday Drive:

  1. I really liked your opening sentence about getting sleepy. Happens to me a lot lately. But you came up with some nice S’s and I really liked the “Sacred Delight” song– very beautiful– I had never heard it before.
