We have been having packages come to our door for the past week (Christmas/birthday for Andrew) and have instituted our end-of-the-year no opening Fedex/UPS packages rule. 🙂 We’ve also been starting to get some Christmas shopping done — almost done with all of the kids (Andrew and my gazillion nieces/nephews), which makes me a little sad. I love shopping for toys for kids! We will probably adopt an Angel as well and do some shopping for him/her, but we are pretty much done. Maybe I should start a side business of doing Christmas shopping for other people… and, yes, I am quite serious there — I love it!
Here are some toys we’ve loved seeing and/or buying for the kids in our life… ranging from age 1-8 or so since I’m taking an easy route on the pre-teens this year.
Leapfrog Tag Reader, books, maps, etc. — love, love, LOVE our TAG reader! Andrew has had one for almost 2 years now (since he was not-quite 3) and it gets used constantly.
U-Build Games (Monopoly, Mousetrap, Sorry, Connect 4, Battleship): We saw these out shopping today and think they are great! Our little guy is still too young for most of them though.
Lite Brite Flatscreen: Andrew got one of these a few months back. It was a spontaneous OMG, Lite Brites are out again! purchase. 🙂 Love seeing toys from my childhood coming back around…
Sing a ma jigs — these are new this year. We came across them a few months ago at Target and fell in love with them. They are adorably cute, they harmonize if you buy more than one, and they are just fun!
Leapfrog toys in general are amazing! 🙂 For the youngest kids, we love Fridge Phonics!
I’m guessing we’ll end up with a part 2 of this post. But… that’s what is new and exciting in toyland in our world lately.
I’m thankful for a fun day shopping! That and coffee with friends (which is why I am up at almost 1 am doing a post for what I guess is officially yesterday!) 🙂
